This apartment in Paris was built in the late 1800s and has a very traditional layout. Being situated on a high floor, the apartment directly overlooks the Batignolles Park and has an exquisite view of it. However, the original layout mostly gave priority to the bedrooms with the park view.

With that in mind, the original bedrooms walls were broken down to open up the entire front area facing the park as an extended living area, connecting the living, dining and kitchen as one spacious room.

On the left end of the living space, there are two book shelves built into the wall, with a fireplace in between them. One of the bookshelves would form a study while the other, a read nook adjacent to a window to a view of the park below.

The open kitchen would be situated directly across these book shelves on the other end of the living space, echoing similar design and materiality.

The material breathes elegance but still remains unassuming, allowing the landscape view of the changing colours of the park stand out through the seasons.
